Help & FAQ

Everything you need to know about using Advanced Notes.

Getting Started
How do I log in?

Go to the login page and enter your username and password. After a successful login you will be asked for your Access PIN before any notes are shown.

What is the Access PIN?

The Access PIN is a second layer of protection. Even after logging in, your notes are hidden until you enter the correct PIN. Each PIN unlocks an independent, private workspace — without it, there is nothing to see.

Can I change my PIN?

Yes. On the PIN unlock screen, enter your current PIN and new PIN separated by a colon (e.g. 1234:5678). The new PIN must be at least 4 characters and must not be a repeated digit or sequential number.

Using Notes
How do I create a note?

Click "Add" in the navigation bar or use the Quick Capture field on the Dashboard. You can set a title, write content in Markdown, choose a category, add tags, and set a priority level.

Does my content support Markdown?

Yes. Note content is rendered as Markdown when you view a note. You can use headings, bold, italic, code blocks, lists, tables, blockquotes, and more.

How do I search my notes?

Use the search bar at the top of the Notes list. You can search by keyword across titles and content, and filter by category or priority using the dropdowns.

What is the Archive?

Archiving a note moves it out of your main notes list without deleting it. Access archived notes from the Archive link in the navigation. You can restore or permanently delete archived notes.

Language
How do I switch between Arabic and English?

Click the language button (EN / عربي) in the top navigation bar. The page layout automatically switches to RTL for Arabic and LTR for English.

Data & Export
Can I export my notes?

Yes. Go to Data in the navigation. You can export your notes as a JSON file (for re-importing later) or as a ZIP archive of Markdown files (one per note, with YAML front matter).

Can I import notes?

Yes. From the Data page, upload a previously exported JSON file. Notes are added to your current workspace. Malformed items are skipped safely.

Frequently Asked Questions
I forgot my PIN. What do I do?

Contact the app owner to reset your PIN. PINs are stored as one-way hashes and cannot be recovered.

Is my data safe?

All traffic is encrypted over HTTPS. Your PIN is never stored in plain text. Notes are stored in a private database on a dedicated server. See the Privacy page for details.

What happens if I enter the wrong PIN too many times?

After several failed attempts, the system temporarily blocks further tries to protect against brute-force attacks. Wait a moment, then try again.
